Logistics Operations Leader

At Amazon, our operations team is the core of our success. This vital segment ensures that we efficiently manage the dispatch and delivery of orders, guaranteeing that our customers receive their products promptly.
As a Logistics Operations Leader, you will play a crucial role in uniting the team to drive excellence in safety, quality, and productivity throughout our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and nurture a team of Area Managers.
- Take ownership of your facility, addressing challenges and enhancing site performance.
- Evaluate site performance against key business objectives and implement strategies to elevate operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with various support teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Delivery Service Partners, IT, and Engineering.
- Develop and execute initiatives across the facilities to boost operational performance.
You will have complete responsibility for an entire logistics facility, guiding teams, monitoring site performance, and continuously seeking improvements in customer experience.
This role requires you to be engaged with daily operations while also contributing innovative ideas to enhance site efficiency.
Typical activities include: collaborating with diverse stakeholders, analyzing performance metrics, and preparing for varying demand levels.
You will mentor and coach your team to achieve outstanding results.
About the TeamAmazon Logistics, or AMZL, is responsible for 'last mile' delivery operations in collaboration with third-party distribution partners.
We leverage innovative thinking and ongoing improvement initiatives to ensure millions of products reach our customers.
Our mission is to streamline the delivery experience for our customers while implementing global delivery solutions for our latest services.
We have two main components: our 'under the roof' associates who process millions of products for dispatch, and our 'on the road' personnel who work with Amazon Flex, a network of delivery contractors.
Each year, we strive to enhance customer experience through innovative delivery services, tackling industry-wide logistics challenges, and reducing our carbon footprint with advanced vehicles and technology.
Basic Qualifications- A degree.
- Demonstrated experience in effective people and stakeholder management.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
- Experience utilizing data or anecdotal evidence to inform business decisions.
- Relevant experience in production and supply chain management.
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Experience in a comparable logistics environment.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional context.
