Job Title: Platform Support DBA III

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator III to join our team. As a key member of our platform support team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support for our database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary contact for database-related requests and issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
  • Support Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL) production and non-production databases.
  • Develop and maintain technical articles, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and runbooks.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices through company-sponsored training and self-study.
  • Collaborate with application development and support teams to ensure optimal database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitor and work the JIRA ticket queue for requests to make schema changes, security changes, and execute scripts against the databases.
  • Provide database tuning and optimization services to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in daily administration activities, including setup, configuration, and monitoring of databases.
  • Work with the infrastructure team, application team, and other teams to resolve complex issues and implement solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle, MySQL, and MSSQL.
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, Aurora) and other public cloud providers is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience with database high availability scenarios, data replication tools, and Unix/Linux administration is a plus.
