Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Orion Health. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, which are critical to our mission of reimagining the healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Analyze and implement industry best practices for database management.
  • Design and implement proactive monitoring and observability of database metrics.
  • Monitor database health and performance, responding to alerts and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with peer SREs to roll out application upgrades and changes to our production environment.
  • Diagnose, mitigate, and resolve database-related incidents.
  • Participate in post-incident analysis, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Design and deliver optimizations, automation, and continuous improvement of database infrastructure.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and scalability initiatives.
  • Document changes and learnings.
Requirements:
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills, including architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Good understanding of data management principles and proven experience with SQL HA and DR technologies.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate or higher level cloud skills, with a preference for AWS.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
