Job Summary

As a Research Associate within Boston Consulting Group's Data & Researcher Services team, you will provide secondary research in support of proposals, client cases, and business or IP development initiatives, with specialization in Infrastructure, Real Estate, Transportation & Tourism topics. You will be responsible for delivering on a variety of requests through the day, working collaboratively with consulting teams and knowledge teams to understand, scope, and deliver accurate, timely, and relevant data and information.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop topic knowledge and industry expertise in areas such as Tourism, Hospitality, Travel Distribution, and Aviation.
• Manage various research requests with high-level accuracy and organization, primarily on Hospitality, Tourism, Travel distribution, and Aviation topics for our European-based consulting teams.
• Evaluate source quality and data accuracy, and proactively help to identify and raise research-related issues.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of business research experience, with specialization in Travel and Tourism topics, particularly in Tourism (destination development), Leisure (Hotels, cruise lines, theme parks, etc), Aviation (airlines and airport infrastructure), and Travel Distribution.
• Exposure to Tourism destination development and Travel Distribution topics would be an added plus point.
• Bachelor's degree with a strong preference for Tourism or Hospitality Management. Master's in Tourism, Hospitality/Airport Management is a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is a must.
• Excellent communications skills, proficiency in English, and fluency in other European languages.
• Sound understanding of European Tourism sector and markets.
• Desirable knowledge in research databases like OAG, Phocuswright, Euromonitor, or STR.
