Bioengineering Researcher for Pediatric Oncology

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is seeking a highly motivated researcher to contribute to our research in Bioengineering for Personalized Pediatric Oncology.

This fellowship is part of the Generación de Conocimiento project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.

The selected candidate will pursue a PhD focused on the MAGNETO project:

Magnetic Hyperthermia Studies Using Bioengineered Models of Pediatric Cancer

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize experimental models and protocols to study therapeutic responses in pediatric oncology.
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the research group and external partners to advance the project's objectives.
  • Participate in regular lab meetings, progress reports, and contribute to grant writing and project dissemination efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies in the field of bioengineering and cancer research.

Requirements for candidates:

  • Degree/master's in Biomedical Engineering or Translational Research fields.
  • Candidates should be ready to enter an official doctoral programme in December 2024 (under Spanish Law).
  • Candidates must have a strong commitment to scientific research and an excellent academic record.
  • Candidates must have a good working knowledge of English.
  • Candidates must not yet have been awarded a doctoral degree.
  • Candidates must not have held a Ph.D. contract exceeding twelve months by the beginning of the fellowship.
