Job Title: Research Scientist in Biosensors for Bioengineering Research
About the Job:
The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our Biosensors for Bioengineering Research Group. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and characterizing 3D tissue co-cultures of skeletal muscle tissues from patient-derived cells.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize 3D tissue co-cultures of skeletal muscle tissues from patient-derived cells.
- Design and fabricate microfluidic devices.
- Integrate the platform to drug testing assays.
Requirements:
- Essential: Degree in any field in Biomedical Engineering or similar.
- Experience in cell culture and Molecular Biology.
- Experience in microfabrication techniques will be a plus.
- Experience in microphysiological systems and tissue engineering will be a plus.
Competencies and Skills:
- Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English.
What We Offer:
- Full-time 2 years employment contract.
- Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
