Job Title: Research Scientist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Embl-Ebi. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for leading research projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and publishing research findings in reputable scientific journals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research projects, including project planning, experimental design, and implementation.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, biologists, clinicians, and other scientists to achieve project goals.
  • Design and optimize 3D systems to mimic the physiological environment of blood vessels.
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Contribute to intellectual property protection and publish research findings in reputable scientific journals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in vascular tissue engineering and related fields.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in biology, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or a related life science field.
  • Five+ years of experience with cell/tissue culture techniques and molecular biology techniques.
  • Proven track record of research achievements in vascular tissue engineering, demonstrated through publications and conference presentations.
  • Strong expertise in tissue engineering techniques, and cell culture methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead research projects, mentor trainees, and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
