About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Engineer to join our Radiation Engineering & Analysis (REA) group at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and analysis of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) and other advanced reactor designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead specific scopes on large commercial nuclear and decommissioning projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
  • Perform neutron transport calculations in and around the reactor vessel, utilizing state-of-the-art codes such as RAPTOR-M3G and MCNP.
  • Review plant drawings and build transport models to support licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct fluence, activation, heating rate, and dosimetry calculations to ensure safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants.
  • Analyze results critically and produce high-quality technical documentation to support project deliverables.
  • Support radiation source term calculations, post-irradiation compositions, and decay heat analysis to ensure accurate modeling and simulation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide radiation protection support and licensing expertise for decommissioning and new build projects.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in relevant computer codes, including MCNP, SCALE, and ORIGEN, to support project needs.
Requirements
  • BS or MS in Nuclear Engineering (or similar field) required.
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in nuclear engineering, radiation protection, or a related field.
  • English-language skills: B2 (verbal) and C1 (written).
  • Spanish-language skills: B2 (verbal) and C1 (written).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Linux, programming, and computational simulation.
  • Experience with relevant computer codes (MCNP, SCALE, etc.).
