About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flying Emergency Response Coordinator to join our team at Acción Contra el Hambre. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing emergency response activities, including needs assessment, emergency response planning, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Needs Assessment and Emergency Response Planning: Conduct exploratory missions, rapid assessments, and emergency response design and planning to ensure effective response to emergencies.
  • Emergency Response Overview and Humanitarian Programme Management: Oversee the implementation of emergency response activities, including response overview and humanitarian programme management.
  • Team Management and Leadership: Provide general team and HR management and leadership at emergency response level, ensuring effective team performance and coordination.
  • Programme Support Service Management: Manage security, financial, and planning aspects of emergency response activities.
  • GAP-FILLING: Fill-in for mid-level managerial positions and provide emergency advice support to missions.
Requirements
  • University Degree: Ideally related to humanitarian or management fields, with a valid HEAT training or similar.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of previous experience in similar positions or at least mid-level operational management and coordination (FieldCo, Head of Base and above).
  • Language Skills: Spanish (COMPULSORY working language), spoken, read, and written; English (COMPULSORY working language), spoken, read, and written; French (COMPULSORY working language), spoken, read, and written.
  • Work Environment: Up to 70% time in the field, 30% time in HQ/remote Field deployment length: up to 2 months.
