Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Drives Field Service Technician to join our team at ABB Schweiz AG. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for executing onsite service work, commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits of ABB drives and other industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute onsite service work, including commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits of ABB drives and other industrial equipment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by meeting customers' needs and maintaining good relationships with customers.
  • Work with others to identify new service business opportunities and help convince clients to take the complete service portfolio.
  • Collaborate with customers and other ABB teams to deliver quality and satisfying customer service.
  • Perform onsite service tasks, including commissioning of equipment, diagnostics, and repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits.
  • Ensure that Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices are of high standard and work to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents.
  • Report work done in a timely manner and follow up when needed.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and take corrective actions, troubleshoot complex equipment failures, and make recommendations to avoid the problem in the future.
  • Make suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements and discuss them with the team.
Requirements
  • Educational background in Electrical/Electronic engineering or Professional Module (FP2).
  • Deep knowledge of AC/DC drives technology.
  • Sound knowledge (more than 5 years of experience) of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing ABB or other brand Drives for different types of industries and applications.
  • Knowledge of industrial communications is highly appreciated.
  • Proven experience in technical remote support using Digital tools.
  • Results-oriented, active listening, and empathy for interaction with customers.
  • Current car driving license (type B) valid in Spain as well as specific VISA/work permit for Spain.
  • Fluent in Spanish and good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
