About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer Tech Lead to join our team at Roche Diabetes Care. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data and analytics architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Design and Implementation of Data Architecture

Develop and implement a robust data architecture that ensures compliance, quality, and sustainable growth of our platform.

Build Scalable Data Pipelines

Design and build scalable data pipelines to integrate and model datasets from various sources, meeting functional and non-functional requirements.

Provide Data Support to Cross-Functional Teams

Provide the technology, tools, and data to support data scientists and analysts in R&D, One Medical, and Commercial teams.

Manage the Technical Backlog

Manage the technical backlog on the Data & Analytics Platform, ensuring timely completion of projects.

Ensure Data Quality

Implement and monitor a data quality framework together with the data source teams, ensuring high-quality data.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Stakeholders

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs and provide data-driven solutions.

Formulate and Complete End-to-End Analysis

Develop and complete end-to-end analysis, including data gathering, analysis, and presentation of results.

Foster a Data-Driven Culture

Lead data science projects that will have an impact throughout the organization, fostering a data-driven culture.

Grow the Data Team

Help to grow our data team with exceptional engineers, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent.

Requirements
  1. Education

BS degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience

8+ years relevant experience as a Data Engineer, building Data Platforms, Datalakes, and Business Intelligence solutions.

Technical Skills

Proficient in implementing data pipelines (using Pyspark, Spark SQL, Scala), orchestration tools/services (Airflow, data factory), and testing frameworks.

Cloud Experience

Experience in one of the main cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) with Big Data services (EMR, Databricks, Synapse, HDInsight, Kinesis, etc.).

Database Experience

Experience in databases (columnar, NoSQL, and relational databases: Redshift, DynamoDB, Aurora, Postgres, and/or Snowflake), data modeling, and data management tools (Hive, Jupiter, Zeppelin, and/or Databricks).

Agile Methodologies

Experience working in Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps Experience

Experience with DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps.

Security and Privacy Regulations

Experience with security and privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA).

Data Science and Machine Learning

Experience in Data Science and Machine Learning.

Data Mesh Architectures

Knowledge of Data Mesh Architectures.

Health Industry Experience

Knowledge of the Health Industry.
