The Challenge

We are looking for a Business Lead in Motors, who will report directly to the COO. Wallapop is currently the largest advertising platform for second-hand cars from private sellers, and the second-largest overall in Spain. We want to continue the high growth from the past couple of years by further penetrating the dealer market and creating synergies within our portfolio of offerings.

We also want to explore how we can innovate and increase the value of our services for sellers. As the Business Lead for Motors, you will define the general strategy to drive market penetration and revenue growth. You will manage the full Motors vertical, including all relevant categories (cars, motorcycles, auto parts and accessories), target customers (both dealers and private sellers) and sales channels (self-serve and commercial).

You will also take responsibility for further developing strategic partnerships to improve our value proposition and acquire new customers. You will be responsible for coordinating all efforts and initiatives across the various functions involved, including product development, marketing, sales, and customer support.

What You Will Do
  1. Define our Motors strategy to improve our competitive position and become the leading classifieds platform for our Motors categories in Spain (and potentially later abroad).
  2. Drive the processes to define yearly and quarterly business objectives in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate closely with the cross-functional team to translate strategy into operational plans that will help to achieve the set objectives and targets.
  4. Take full ownership of the key objectives and results, drive execution and report proactively on progress and challenges.
  5. Partner with Product, Marketing, and RevOps to develop an aligned roadmap for the team.
  6. Analyse and improve our current professional proposition and pricing as well as our proposition for private sellers to ensure we maintain our leading position in the market.
  7. Identify, quantify, and prioritise new opportunities to improve and innovate our value proposition towards buyers and sellers and drive revenue growth.
  8. Create realistic business cases to drive make/partner/buy decisions.
  9. Manage the full P&L of our Motors business.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Lead in Motors who has a strong passion for the automobile industry, in classifieds or marketplace context. You should have a Bachelor or Master's degree in business or engineering and relevant work experience in business management and/or strategic consulting in the field of classifieds and/or e-commerce.

You should have proven experience in developing and delivering business strategy, experience in managing a cross-functional team for an internet company, and a customer-centric mindset in everything you do. You should also have a proven track record of delivering results against ambitious P&L targets, commercial and creative mindset, balancing pragmatic solutions with long-term goals, and goal-oriented, self-motivated and self-directed.

You should be motivated to take full ownership and include relevant partners from start to end and be fluent in Spanish and English.

What Would Be A Plus

Business development experience in SMB solutions and experience with agile working environment in a start- or scale-up company would be a plus.
