About the Role

Olympus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Onsite Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our customer support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and uptime of our medical equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Support: Provide timely and effective support to customers to resolve equipment-related issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  2. Logistics Management: Manage the logistics of repairs and loans, including collection, administration, and distribution of equipment.
  3. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the repair and loan process to enhance customer satisfaction and equipment uptime.
  4. Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to introduce new products and services, and to identify opportunities for future sales.
  5. Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing technical support and guidance to ensure their equipment is functioning optimally.
  6. Uptime Support: Proactively visit customer sites to manage needs and maximize customer satisfaction, ensuring that equipment is running at optimal levels.
  7. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct repair trend observations to identify the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions to reduce avoidable repairs.
  8. Training and Education: Provide basic practical training and education to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and hygiene/reprocessing procedures to prevent avoidable repairs.
  9. Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with the uptime support manager to ensure alignment on action plans to achieve repair KPIs and maximize customer satisfaction.
  10. Data Retrieval and Field Service: Retrieve data and procedures for customers as required, and provide field service support to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
  11. Planned Preventative Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance on electronics equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  12. Flexible Endoscope Preventative Maintenance: Perform flexible endoscope preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  13. System Installation: Install Olympus systems, including trolleys, processors, light sources, and other equipment to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  14. Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers as required, including troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  15. Stock Control Management: Manage stock levels of components held on site to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize downtime.
  16. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and quality requirements, including those stipulated in the KeyMed Quality Manual, Quality Policy, and Quality Objectives.
  17. Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements: Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Electronic/Electrical Engineering qualification as per country requirement.
  • Professional Experience: Desirable background in multi-vendor equipment or experience in engineering roles, previous experience in large healthcare projects, and previous experience in onsite support for medical equipment.
  • Requirements: Travel is a requirement of this role, and applicants must possess a full, clean driving license.
