About the Role

Olympus Iberia S.A.U. (OIB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Onsite Support Specialist to join our team. As an Onsite Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support
    • Manage the logistics of repairs and loans, including collection, administration, and distribution.
    • Improve efficiency within the repair and loan process to enhance uptime.
    • Collaborate with the Sales team to introduce new products and drive future sales.
    • Act as the face of the company, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any customer queries or concerns.
    • Ensure all customer requests are actioned in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Uptime Support
    • Proactively visit stakeholders in hospitals to manage needs and maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Conduct repair trend observations to identify the root cause of problems and reduce avoidable repairs.
    • Implement troubleshooting techniques, such as air/water channel blockage removal, to prevent repairs.
    • Provide basic practical training and education to customers on hygiene and reprocessing topics.
    • Work closely with the Uptime Support Manager to ensure alignment and achieve repair KPIs and maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Retrieve data and procedures for customers as required.
  • Field Service
    • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on electronics equipment.
    • Conduct flexible endoscope preventative maintenance.
    • Install Olympus systems, including trolleys, processors, light sources, etc.
    • Provide technical support as needed.
    • Schedule field-based engineers to complete repairs if required.
    • Conduct onsite hygiene testing of Olympus equipment, provide hygiene consulting, and assist customers with hygiene issues related to reprocessing.
    • Manage stock control of components held on site.
    • Collaborate with field service engineers to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.
    • Implement and work to all applicable regulatory and quality requirements as stipulated in the KeyMed Quality Manual, Quality Policy, and Quality Objectives.
    • Implement and work to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
    • Perform first interventions on Olympus equipment according to OEM-approved standards and quality.
    • Conduct endoscope minor repairs in the field according to OEM-approved standards and quality.
    • Participate in internal audits and implement corrective actions according to the PDCA system.

Requirements

  • Electronic/Electrical Engineering qualification as per country requirement.
  • Desirable background in Multi-vendor equipment or experience in engineering roles.
  • Previous experience in large healthcare projects is desirable.
  • Previous experience in engineering roles would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in onsite support for medical equipment would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in the Medical field/Engineering would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive to change is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Hygiene is desirable but not essential.
  • Requirements: Travel is a requirement of this role, and applicants must possess a full, clean driving license.
  • Good standard of Mathematics & English attained is desirable.
  • Natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships (people person).
  • Professional attitude with an eagerness to learn.
  • Be comfortable working within a theatre/procedure/decontamination environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including staying late or working weekends to meet customer requirements.
