About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The successful candidate will work closely with our Atmospheric Composition (AC) group to develop and apply numerical models for predicting atmospheric pollutants and their effects on air quality, weather, and climate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze forecast and observational aerosols data
  • Develop and deliver hands-on training sessions on aerosols forecasting and modeling
  • Contribute to workshops and summer schools on aerosols science
  • Write technical documentation and user guides
  • Disseminate and communicate aerosols science research to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Environmental Science
  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
  • Experience in writing technical documentation in English
  • Experience with Geo-spatial data
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in teaching and/or organizing training sessions
  • Knowledge of atmospheric science (models and/or observations)
