Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our Atmospheric Composition group, where you will contribute to the development and improvement of aerosol forecast models and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain numerical models for aerosol forecasting, including the MONARCH model.
- Collaborate with the AC group to improve the accuracy and reliability of aerosol forecast products.
- Provide training and know-how on dust modeling, assimilation, and forecast products to early-stage researchers and students.
- Contribute to the development of new aerosol forecast products tailored for aviation, solar energy, and air quality.
Requirements: We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a strong background in atmospheric science, computer science, or a related field. You should have excellent programming skills, particularly in languages such as Python or Fortran, and experience with high-performance computing environments.
