Job Title: GNC Modelling and Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled GNC Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join our team at Elecnor Deimos. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating complex models and simulations for spacecraft and launch vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mathematical models and simulations for spacecraft and launch vehicle systems
  • Validate and verify models and simulations using various tools and techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models and simulations into larger system designs
  • Develop and maintain tools and software for model validation and versioning
  • Support the development of code re-usability and scalability strategies
Requirements:
  • Strong background in MATLAB/Simulink and C programming languages
  • Experience with physical modelling and simulation using Simscape
  • Good software development skills and experience with object-oriented programming
  • Ability to understand and apply new concepts to engineering problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Python programming language
  • Knowledge of XML and automatic code generation
  • Experience in flight operations in ESA/European programmes
Education:

A recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or a related degree (e.g., Physics, Maths) is required. Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) with a focus on aeronautical/aerospace engineering and providing a solid background in at least two of the following areas are desired:

  • Orbital mechanics and atmospheric flight dynamics
  • Structural modelling for simulation purposes
  • Model-based system engineering
Professional Experience:

A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience is required. Engineers with 5 or more years of experience in the practical application of the domains relevant to the post will be viewed favourably.
