About the Project

The Instituto De Salud Global De Barcelona (ISGlobal) is seeking a highly skilled Master Researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of two new active strategies against multiresistant bacteria. The project aims to continue developing the main research line of the project, focusing on the search and characterization of a cyclic peptide as inhibitors of efflux pumps in A. baumannii, P. aeruginosa, and K. pneumoniae.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the in vitro activity and stability of the molecule with antimicrobial potential found against the aforementioned species.
  • Evaluate the effect of this peptide regarding its mechanism of action against the bacteria.
  • Participate in the general organization of the research group and its equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all the research lines are correctly carried on with the techniques performed in our laboratory.
  • Provide support to all the members involved (PhD Students / Post-doctoral students / Visitors / other Lab Technicians) and to other activities within the scope and purpose of the project.
Requirements
  • Previous laboratory experience in the microbiology field, particularly in antimicrobial resistance.
  • Training in Molecular Biology.
  • Candidate with initiative and proactivity.
  • Outstanding organizational and good teamworking skills.
  • Responsible, flexible, and with problem-solving skills.
  • Eager to learn, proactive, and with great initiative.
  • Demonstrable adaptability and flexibility to adapt positively to change.
  • Previous experience in molecular microbiology.
