Job Summary
The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group. The successful candidate will work on the development of self-propelled nanobots for translational approaches within biomedicine.
About the Project
The project aims to study the collective behavior of active nanoparticles (swarming intelligence), their cooperative motion, and their application as drug delivery systems. The researcher will be responsible for synthesizing, functionalizing, and characterizing inorganic and organic nanocarriers, as well as designing and optimizing nanoparticle drug loading processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and optimization of nanoparticle drug loading processes
- Contribution to the development of new combinations of nanoparticles and therapeutic agents
- In vitro evaluation of the therapeutic effect and mechanism of action of drug-loaded nanobots
- Guiding bachelor, master, and PhD students
- Support to the Group Leader in funding acquisition
Requirements
- PhD in pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology, nanomedicine, biochemistry, or similar
- Experience in nanoparticle synthesis and functionalization
- Experience in drug loading and drug delivery studies
- Knowledge of common characterization techniques
- High level of English
