Research Business Development Manager Europe: Unlocking Neurodegenerative Disease Solutions

The Research Business Development Manager Europe is a key role within Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, responsible for creating institutional demand for our Research Use assays for neurodegenerative diseases and companion instruments. This entrepreneurial position will establish and position Beckman Coulter's Research Use Only (RUO) assays that best align with research and core labs for drug and therapeutics discovery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Generation: Gather and pursue leads from Neurology conferences and congresses to identify potential customers and partners.
- Thought Leadership Network: Develop a network of thought leaders in research of new neurodegenerative biomarkers to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trends.
- Business Development: Build a solid funnel of opportunities with Research Institutes, University Hospitals, and Commercial Labs across Europe to drive business growth and revenue.
- Value Proposition: Present the value proposition of RUO Neuro biomarkers from Beckman Coulter to customers and partners, highlighting their benefits and applications.
- Sales and Contracting: Generate proposals for customers, negotiate terms, close the sales process, and get contracts signed to secure business deals.
- Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure ongoing business and identify new opportunities.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience, 7+ years of experience with a Master's degree or Ph.D. with 3 years selling research use only (RUO) within research and academic institutions.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and experience building a book of business from scratch.
- Commercial Skills: Demonstrate strong commercial skills while maintaining the ability to partner with service and marketing to maximize value.
- Contracting Skills: Possess strong contracting skills in generating proposals, negotiating terms, and closing deals.
- Analytical Skills: Be analytical and fact-based, able to draw on knowledge and experience at Research Accounts in predevelopment and development of neurodegenerative therapeutics.
- Sales Experience: Experience selling similar products in academia, pharma, and research.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience preferred with research use only laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Change Management: Experience with change management/performance improvement efforts.
