About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and creative leader to join our Brand Activation Team as the Head of Brand Marketing and Events. This is a unique opportunity to shape the Semrush brand and expand our audience through organic channels, word of mouth, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive event-based marketing strategy, including in-person conferences, online events, and brand activations.
  2. Manage and grow our in-person conference, Spotlight, to a 5,000-people event within a few years, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  3. Create and implement campaigns that capture the hearts and minds of our users, connecting the emotional values of our audiences to the functional purpose of our products.
  4. Partner with global marketing leadership to secure buy-in and commitment from channel owners for campaign promotion.
  5. Measure, analyze, and report on the success of campaigns in terms of business impact.
  6. Build and execute the strategy for partner marketing and sponsorships.
  7. Manage the annual budget, collaborate with the finance team to report and update on spend and outcomes.
  8. Lead a small team of project managers/program managers/campaign managers and a large team of external vendors.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of experience in strategy and tactics for brand campaigns, both hands-on and as a team lead.
  2. Experience managing brand campaigns with annual budgets over $10M/year (excluding paid media spend).
  3. Demonstrated success in overseeing or creating rich and relevant brand campaign experiences.
  4. Highly creative, 'hands-on' leader who embraces ambiguity and defines a way forward.
  5. Strong results-based mentality, analytical skills, and data-driven thinking (comfortable working with numbers, metrics, and spreadsheets; reporting on ROI).
  6. Outstanding listening, interviewing, meeting facilitation, storytelling, and writing skills.
  7. A leader who can inspire and direct a wider team that doesn't report to you.
  8. Excellent communicator, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  9. Extraordinary verbal and written English skills.
  10. A strong mix between B2B and B2C experience is preferred.

About the Team

The Brand Activation Team is responsible for planning and executing brand activations and experiences, expanding the Semrush audience through organic channels, word of mouth, and thought leadership. We are on a mission to make the Semrush brand the first company people discover and think of when it comes to marketing and growing their online presence.
