Position Overview:

Bertrandt, a frontrunner in pioneering solutions for the Aerospace industry, is seeking a Telecommunications Systems Engineer who possesses both expertise and enthusiasm for the creation, specification, and design of sophisticated communication systems. This position emphasizes the contribution to the architecture and execution of systems for state-of-the-art aerospace platforms, ensuring the interoperability, security, and efficiency of both tactical and operational communications.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify integrated communication systems, utilizing modeling techniques such as SysML (preferred) and documentation with IBM DOORS, to fulfill the technical and operational requirements of aerospace initiatives while ensuring comprehensive traceability.
  • Lead the collection of high-level requirements from clients and stakeholders, ensuring that project goals align with operational necessities and performance standards.
  • Prepare thorough technical documentation, including Software Design Documents (SDD) and Software Requirements Documents (SRD), to facilitate the development, testing, and integration of telecommunications systems on aerospace platforms.
  • Oversee the preparation of plans and specifications for essential certifications, including DO-254, DO-178, and environmental testing certifications, ensuring adherence to safety and quality benchmarks.
  • Plan and supervise flight tests, analyzing data to make necessary adjustments and enhancements to systems, aiming to ensure optimal effectiveness and operational safety.
  • Actively engage in management tasks, such as team coordination, project planning, follow-up meetings, and documentation of meeting minutes, contributing to the successful and timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the design and specification of telecommunications systems, ideally within the Aerospace sector.
  • Desirable modeling expertise for specification (SysML, Simulink, UML, etc.), IBM DOORS, and familiarity with aerospace communication standards and certifications (DO-254, DO-178).
  • Knowledge of reference aerospace platforms in transportation and combat domains.
  • Capability to lead requirements gathering, manage stakeholders, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • High level of proactivity, excellent organizational and synthesis skills, with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Desire to be part of a systems engineering team with opportunities for professional development.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (technical and professional).
