Position Overview: At Bertrandt, a prominent player in the aerospace and automotive sectors, we are on the lookout for a skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in modeling and simulation to enhance our Model-Based Engineering (MBE) team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and model control systems for aerial refueling operations utilizing Simulink, while generating VHDL code through HDL Coder.
  • Develop and implement control algorithms for both closed-loop and open-loop systems, such as PID and Kalman Filters, to ensure safe and precise refueling functionalities.
  • Ensure the Simulink models are capable of producing optimized and error-free VHDL code, addressing and rectifying issues highlighted by the Model Advisor.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team to integrate the generated VHDL code into the overall system architecture, focusing on performance and efficiency.
  • Engage in the creation of software design specifications (SDD), system requirement documentation (SRD), and modeling guidelines in compliance with DO-331 and DO-254 standards.
  • Utilize tools like IBM DOORS for effective requirement management and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the Model-Based Engineering team by staying informed on the latest trends and technologies in modeling and simulation within a multi-project environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with Simulink for control system modeling and VHDL code generation via HDL Coder.
  • In-depth knowledge of control algorithms and their application in Simulink.
  • Ability to interpret and resolve issues identified by the Model Advisor, with a solid understanding of VHDL at a fundamental level.
  • Familiarity with DO-254 regulations for aeronautical hardware development and understanding of DO-331 for model-based development and verification.
  • Proficiency in using IBM DOORS for requirement management and maintaining high traceability.
  • Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English, with a collaborative mindset and proactive approach.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
