Job Title: Emergency Response Coordinator

Empresa reconocida is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Response Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing emergency response activities, including needs assessment, emergency response planning, and program implementation.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Objective 1: Needs Assessment and Emergency Response Planning
  2. Tasks: Conduct exploratory missions, rapid assessments, and emergency response design and planning
  3. Coordinate the development of project implementation plans and budgets within the framework of the mission's emergency response program and strategy
  4. Assist and advise the Country Director with securing donor funding for emergency projects
  5. Maintain ongoing surveillance of the developing humanitarian emergency and plan activities accordingly
  6. Objective 2: Emergency Response Overview and Humanitarian Program Management
  7. Tasks: Response implementation, programme direction, supervision, and coordination
  8. Lead and validate the selection of beneficiaries of the project according to humanitarian standards
  9. Responsible for ensuring good quality of the response or program implementation through the sound development of a monitoring plan for the activities
  10. Ensure that different sectorial activities are implemented in a coordinated and integrated manner
  11. Reporting monthly activities and preparing internal and donor regular reports on the ongoing project
  12. Objective 3: Team Management and Leadership
  13. Tasks: General team and HR management and leadership at emergency response level
  14. Ensure in close coordination with the HR Coordinator (or equivalent) the establishment, application, and maintenance of Empresa reconocida's HR management systems for all emergency response staff
  15. Ensure all incoming staff are fully briefed on all aspects of security, social, and cultural norms and local conditions and behavior
  16. Create the conditions to ensure effective teamwork and morale
  17. Conduct performance appraisals of staff if and as required, ensure regular feedback and mentoring on individual performance
  18. Objective 4: Programme Support Service Management
  19. Tasks: Security management, financial management, and planning
  20. Ensure that programme support functions are established and maintained in accordance with Empresa reconocida policies and procedures
  21. Ensure compliance with all host country legal, contractual, labor, and statutory requirements
  22. Liaise with the Empresa reconocida Logistics Coordinator and HQ Security Officer to ensure compliance with Empresa reconocida Security Guidelines
  23. Objective 5: Gap-Filling
  24. Tasks: Fill-in for mid-level managerial positions and emergency advice support to the missions
  25. To represent, in his/her area of responsibility, Empresa reconocida and to oversee all activities, staff, and assets according to the Terms of Reference for the Gap-Filling

Minimum Requirements:

University Degree ideally related to humanitarian or management fields. A valid HEAT training or similar - ESSENTIAL. High level managerial experience, including managing multi-million-dollar budgets. Minimum 3 years of previous experience in similar positions or at least mid-level operational management and coordination (FieldCo, Head of Base and above) – ESSENTIAL. Spanish – COMPULSORY working language, spoken, read, and written. Up to 70% time in the field – 30% time in HQ/ remote Field deployment length: up to 2 months 24h notice in case of sudden emergencies.
