Overview and Purpose
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is a leading institution dedicated to advancing scientific research through cutting-edge computational resources. We are seeking a **Technical Research Manager** to play a pivotal role in our Data Science program, which is focused on enhancing biomedical data integration and analysis. This position will be instrumental in ensuring effective collaboration among various stakeholders, including healthcare institutions, researchers, and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically plan resource allocation and oversee the progress of collaborative research projects, assisting the Principal Investigator in managing both technical and administrative aspects.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, researchers, and external entities, facilitating the negotiation and management of contracts, including consortium agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Organize and engage in project meetings, teleconferences, and reviews to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all project stakeholders, participating in regular discussions and updates.
Qualifications
  • **Educational Background**: A university degree related to Life Sciences or Information Technology is preferred.
  • **Essential Experience**: A minimum of two years in research management and project proposal development, ideally within the life sciences or IT sectors.
  • **Additional Skills**: A background in bioinformatics is advantageous, along with experience in drafting technical specifications for projects. Familiarity with coordinating research proposals funded by European Commission programs or national initiatives is a plus.
  • **Competencies**: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to comprehend scientific literature and software documentation, and a proactive approach to work. Experience in representing teams in international settings and managing deadlines effectively is essential.

Employment Conditions
  • The position is based at BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
