Job Description

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Technical Research Manager to join our team in the Life Sciences Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the coordination of the IMPaCT Data Science programme, liaising with stakeholders, and contributing to the technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Coordination: Plan and monitor the progress of research projects, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with BSC legal services, researchers, and external parties, including negotiating contracts, agreements, and other documents.
  • Project Meetings and Events: Organize and participate in project meetings, teleconferences, reviews, and other events to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Communication and Liaison: Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, participating in meetings and discussions to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree in a relevant field, preferably with a connection to Life Sciences and/or IT.
  • Essential Knowledge and Experience: At least two years of experience in research management and project proposal preparation, preferably in the life sciences/IT area.
  • Additional Knowledge and Experience: A bioinformatics background, experience in developing project technical specifications, and coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission and other organizations.
  • Competences: Fluency in English and Spanish, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to understand scientific literature and software documentation, and experience working autonomously and under pressure.
