Project Manager for Research Initiatives

We are seeking a qualified individual to oversee and facilitate the comprehensive lifecycle of research initiatives within the Project Management Office (PMO) at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), specifically focusing on projects from the Computer Sciences Department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify, communicate, and investigate funding prospects for designated research teams, while establishing and maintaining a proposal calendar with team leaders to ensure effective proposal planning.
- Project Oversight (based on experience). Strategically allocate resources and track project progress, foresee potential challenges, and maintain robust communication with the Principal Investigator and Project Officer or equivalent from funding bodies. Monitor budgets and resource allocation. Organize and engage in consortium meetings, teleconferences, evaluations, and other relevant events. Prepare and submit high-quality periodic reports punctually (gather and assess consortium data). Ensure adherence to contractual commitments and assist in resolving any disputes among partners.
- Proposal Coordination. Lead the development and writing of the management segment of project proposals when applicable and coordinate contributions from other collaborators regarding resource utilization, budget, project governance, etc. Assist in other proposal sections as necessary. Ensure compliance with administrative proposal requirements (eligibility, etc.).
- Additional Duties. Collaborate to enhance PMO operations by sharing best practices. Take ownership of specific BSC research teams and cultivate strong relationships with team leaders and researchers to support their objectives.
- Contract Oversight. Lead negotiations, supervise the drafting and signing of contracts (consortium agreements, NDAs, grant agreements, corporate contracts, etc.) ensuring the protection of BSC and its researchers' interests. Interface with BSC legal services, researchers, and external entities.

- Bachelor's Degree
- Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of five years' experience in managing research projects
- Experience in coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission's Framework Programme, the Spanish State Plan, as well as bilateral agreements with companies is advantageous
- Proficiency in English
- Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalents)
