Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing environmental feasibility studies, supporting the development team in the preparation of environmental authorization, and ensuring compliance with permits and environmental obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct environmental feasibility studies to identify potential environmental impacts of wind and solar projects.
  2. Support the development team in the preparation of environmental authorization documents, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  3. Manage and coordinate contractors undertaking environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with permits and environmental obligations.
  4. Implement environmental measures to reduce and compensate for environmental impacts, and ensure follow-up during operation.
  5. Review and audit environmental documentation submitted by contractors and ensure compliance with regulations.
  6. Audit project sites and contractors to ensure compliance with permits and environmental obligations, and follow up on non-compliance issues.
  7. Launch, follow up, and analyze subcontracted operational phase ecological studies.

Requirements

Education: Graduate or Master's Degree in Environmental Science and/or Biology/Ecology.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in wind or solar project development.

Skills:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of national and European environmental legislation.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, processes, and impacts, particularly linked to wind and solar energy projects.
  3. Fluent in German and English.
  4. German Driving License.
  5. Stakeholder management.
  6. Able to work independently as well as a key part of a team.
  7. Excellent written German and report writing skills.
  8. Capable organization skills and a collaborative and skilled communicator.
