Senior Wind Project Developer

EDP Renewables Germany GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wind Project Developer to join our team in northern Germany. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new wind energy projects, negotiating land leases, and representing the company with local stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Explore new wind energy project opportunities through targeted research and collaboration with internal teams
  • Develop and maintain relationships with land scouts, originators, and other stakeholders in the wind energy sector
  • Qualify projects for integration into EDP's development process
  • Secure land through lease negotiations and agreements
  • Represent EDP at local events, conferences, and meetings with public and private actors
  • Initiate environmental permitting processes and collaborate with internal resources

Requirements:

  • At least 8-12 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind development in the DACH region
  • Strong origination skills, open-minded mentality, and ability to communicate across cultural barriers
  • 2-3 years of experience in wind development, project management, and community engagement
  • Greenfield development experience, technical knowledge of wind energy, and problem-solving skills
  • Well-versed in the German regulatory system and bureaucratic processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with landowners, C-level executives, and other stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BImSch Regulations, EEG, KraftNAV, and BESS knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
  • Additional languages, such as Spanish, are a plus
