As a Research Associate within the Boston Consulting Group's Data and Research Services team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality research support to our consulting teams. Your specialization in the Travel and Tourism sector will enable you to deliver valuable insights and data-driven solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the Travel and Tourism industry, including trends, challenges, and best practices.
- Conduct research and analysis on various topics related to Travel and Tourism, including destination development, leisure, aviation, and travel distribution.
- Collaborate with consulting teams to understand client needs and develop research approaches that meet their objectives.
- Evaluate source quality and data accuracy, and proactively identify and raise research-related issues.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of research databases, tools, and technologies, including OAG, Phocuswright, Euromonitor, and STR.
- Work closely with the DRS team to develop and maintain a knowledge base of research expertise and best practices.
- 0-2 years of business research experience, with a specialization in Travel and Tourism topics.
- Exposure to Tourism destination development and Travel Distribution topics is an added plus point.
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism or Hospitality Management, with a strong preference for a Master's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or Aviation Management.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and strong analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and proficiency in other European languages.
- Sound understanding of the European Tourism sector and markets.
