Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-power converters (Thyristor + IGBT) ranging from 0.5MW to 10MW at client locations worldwide.
  • Contribute to the development of power converters by providing field insights and maintaining close collaboration with our development teams based in Geneva and Madrid.
  • Deliver training sessions to clients regarding power converters in substations.
  • Ensure the operational integrity of the hardware/software converter room.
  • Upload and debug software, firmware, or implement minor software adjustments.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the testing and commissioning of power converters, including reporting and the issuance of test and SAT reports.
  • Provide comprehensive support during the transition of the power converter to the client.
  • Uphold the Sécheron SA brand image and proactively work towards enhancing the customer experience.

Qualifications:

Possess professional expertise in accordance with international standards and safety protocols relevant to the field.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with high-power converters.
  • Knowledge of controllers (PID).
  • Familiarity with automation software and hardware (PLC).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Background in electrotechnical studies with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of power electronics is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with water-cooled converters.
  • Knowledge of power network principles.
  • Familiarity with field bus communication networks.
  • Insight into power conversion principles.
  • Awareness of rail traction power requirements.
