Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer whose primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Overseeing the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-power converters (Thyristor + IGBT) ranging from 0.5MW to 10MW, adhering to international standards at diverse customer locations globally.
  • Contributing to the advancement of power converters by delivering field insights and maintaining close collaboration with our development teams located in Geneva (CH) and Madrid (Spain).
  • Conducting training sessions for clients on power converter operations within substations.
  • Ensuring optimal performance of the hardware/software converter facilities.
  • Managing software uploads, debugging, and minor software adjustments.
  • Handling administrative tasks associated with the testing and commissioning of power converters, including reporting and the generation of test and SAT documentation.
  • Providing comprehensive support during the transition of power converters to customers.
  • Upholding the Sécheron SA brand image while proactively enhancing customer experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-power converters.
  • Knowledge of controllers (PID).
  • Familiarity with automation software and hardware (PLC).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Background in electrotechnical studies with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time.
