Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-power converters (Thyristor + IGBT) ranging from 0.5MW to 10MW, adhering to international standards at client locations globally.
  • Engage in the enhancement of power converters by relaying field insights and maintaining close collaboration with development teams based in Geneva and Madrid.
  • Deliver training sessions to clients regarding power converters utilized in substations.
  • Ensure the optimal operation of the hardware/software converter room.
  • Upload and troubleshoot software, firmware, or implement minor software modifications.
  • Conduct administrative tasks related to the testing and commissioning of power converters, including reporting and generating test and SAT documentation.
  • Provide comprehensive support during the transition of the power converter to the client.
  • Represent the Sécheron SA brand positively and proactively enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications:

Professional expertise in line with international standards and safety protocols within the industry.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with high-power converters.
  • Knowledge of controllers (PID).
  • Familiarity with automation software and hardware (PLC).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Electrotechnical education and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of power electronics is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with water-cooled converters.
  • Knowledge of power network principles.
  • Familiarity with field bus communication networks.
  • Insight into power conversion principles.
  • Awareness of rail traction power requirements.
