Overview:
Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U. is expanding its operations and is in search of a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to our innovative Streaming team.

Role Expectations:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of existing projects while also spearheading the creation and implementation of new features. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the team forward.

Key Responsibilities:
Your main duties will include:

  • Producing high-quality C/C++ code for Amazon's Ring devices.
  • Exhibiting technical leadership through effective communication.
  • Designing and implementing real-time streaming protocols such as RTP/RTCP for embedded Linux and RTOS platforms.
  • Enhancing video encoding and decoding processes across various hardware architectures.
  • Developing algorithms for bandwidth control and adaptive streaming.
  • Integrating with device-specific audio and video hardware and firmware interfaces.
  • Profiling and optimizing code for efficiency in memory, CPU, and power consumption.
  • Collaborating on troubleshooting streaming issues encountered in the field.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in a mentoring or technical leadership role within an engineering team.
- Proven track record in leading the architecture and design of both new and existing systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in software and streaming development using C/C++, with familiarity in the embedded and IoT sectors.
- Field experience in creating high-performance, low-latency video streaming solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of modern C/C++ programming languages and algorithm theory.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and RTOS operating system internals.
- Experience with video and audio encoding (AVC, HEVC, OPUS, etc.) and streaming technologies (WebRTC, RTP, RTSP, etc.).
- Knowledge of network programming and understanding of network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS).
