About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join our team at Elecnor Deimos. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced simulation models for our Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop simulation models for GNC systems, including satellite formation flying, rendezvous, and active debris removal.
  • Develop and maintain tools for model validation and versioning.
  • Support the development of strategies for code re-usability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the overall system team to ensure seamless integration of simulation models.
  • Interface with customers and providers to understand their requirements and provide technical solutions.
Requirements
  • Strong background in MATLAB/Simulink and C programming languages.
  • Experience with physical modelling using Simscape and object-oriented programming.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and on multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers and providers worldwide.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Python and automatic code generation.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in flight operations in ESA/European programmes.
Education and Experience
  • Recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or a related degree (e.g., Physics, Maths).
  • Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) with a focus on aeronautical/aerospace engineering and providing a solid background in at least two of the following: orbital mechanics, structural modelling, and model-based system engineering.
  • Minimum relevant professional experience of 1-3 years, with a strong desire for a steep learning curve.
Language Skills

Good level of English, spoken and written.
