Role Summary
The Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE) plays a vital role as a technical partner for our clients and sales teams. This position is responsible for facilitating the technical integration of Dow Jones' offerings for a diverse range of clients, from innovative startups to globally recognized corporations. The CSE team is also tasked with defining best practices and architectural patterns tailored to client needs, while incorporating the latest technologies and methodologies into proposed solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales teams and clients to explore integration opportunities with Dow Jones data and services, providing design solutions and implementation guidance.
- Identify technical and business requirements from clients and propose appropriate technical solutions within established timelines.
- Showcase solutions that align with clients' business needs and address any technical inquiries throughout the sales process.
- Guide prospective clients during their integration of Dow Jones data and services, including the development and management of proof of concepts.
- Share best practices and model designs with clients to support both technical development and internal approval processes.
- Provide insights to Dow Jones Product and Technology teams regarding emerging client requirements and technology trends.
- Contribute to the team's repository of best practices and processes.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and techniques that could enhance the role and team performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated professionalism with a customer-centric approach.
- Over 5 years of experience in a customer-facing engineering role.
- Experience in software development utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL, Python, and NodeJS.
- Proven ability to conduct and lead technical product demonstrations, including API integrations.
- Strong business acumen and strategic problem-solving capabilities to meet client requirements.
- Experience addressing functional and technical aspects of RFIs/RFPs.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
- Proficient coding skills in any modern programming language.
- Experience with cloud services for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
- Understanding of machine learning techniques, particularly Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text mining.
- Familiarity with Dow Jones products and services, including Factiva, Risk & Compliance, and Newswires.
