Job Description
Bid Manager
As a Bid Manager at Veolia, you will be responsible for developing large and complex proposals. You will oversee opportunities from qualification to contract award, working closely with the Sales team to develop a winning strategy. Your tasks will include:
- Developing a proposal plan and allocating resources from support functions
- Ensuring alignment of the team and reviewing specifications to understand project requirements
- Creating the proposal and supporting documentation, and driving the team through negotiation steps
- Leading a multidisciplinary team, including Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Tax, and Legal
- Ensuring a winning culture and clear accountability within the team
- Following the commercial WIN Process and gaining approvals at the right levels for cost, margin, and terms and conditions
- Working with the Contracts Team for review of Commercial Terms and Conditions
- Communicating with customers during the commercial development process
- Ensuring all proposal records, including Salesforce, are completed and updated
- Facilitating and communicating Lessons Learned to improve quality in future proposals
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Time served in a similar role or a master's degree in engineering
- Solid relevant experience in sales and commercial positions
- Bid/Proposal Management experience in international industrial and municipal B2B transactions, ideally with a heavy technology or services component
- Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and its relevant technologies (MBR, UF, EDR, RO, ZLD)
- Knowledge of international contracting practices in industrial and municipal transactions
- Fluent English and ability to present complex cases with ease in English
- Availability to travel on business as required
- Good business acumen and executive presence
- Ability to multi-task and deliver results against demanding customer-driven deadlines
