Power Curve Validation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Curve Validation Engineer to join our Global Engineering division's experienced international team of system and validation experts. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our field validation activities, focusing on wind turbine power performance.
Key Responsibilities- Power Curve Verification: Assist in the verification of power curves for wind turbines in accordance with the IEC series, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Wind Measurement Campaigns: Organize and coordinate wind measurement campaigns, including site assessment, permitting process, met mast installation, operation, and dismantling, as well as LiDAR deployment and operation.
- Data Analysis and Evaluation: Process, analyze, and evaluate power curve measurement data as part of wind turbine prototype testing and verification in customer projects.
- Performance Optimization: Identify performance deviations, determine causes, develop optimization potential, and define corrective measures to improve wind turbine performance.
- Tool Development: Maintain and further develop the toolset used for data analysis, particularly in Python, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- International Collaboration: Collaborate with international partners and independent measurement institutions to ensure seamless project execution.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in an engineering discipline or comparable qualification.
- Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the wind energy industry.
- Knowledge of aerodynamics and wind turbine control.
- Experience in processing and interpreting large amounts of data.
- Programming capability, particularly in Python language.
- Expertise in data acquisition systems and power/wind measurement technology.
- Excellent English communication skills, both in speaking and writing.
- Fluency in German or Spanish is a plus.
- Self-driven and reliable, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- A diligent, structured way of working.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural team.
- Willingsness to work on wind turbines (working at height) and to travel for business from time to time.
