We are seeking a highly skilled Power System Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving the energy transition and providing innovative solutions for the global community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and integrate electrical simulation models for wind turbines and wind farms using Electromagnetic Transient models.
- Test and analyze model performance, providing inputs to other departments as needed.
- Assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop automation tools to run simulations and create reports automatically.
- Power System engineering expertise, including transmission and distribution networks.
- Grid elements knowledge, including power transformers, power cables, reactive power compensation devices, and protection and distribution of MV grids.
- Power electronics and electrical machines expertise.
- Harmonics analysis and power system studies, including transient stability, electromagnetic transients simulation, and dynamic studies.
- PSCAD expertise, including knowledge of Fortran compilers, compatibility issues, and encryption techniques.
- Creation and integration of compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools, allowing advanced features such as multirun, multi-instance, and snapshot features.
- Fortran and C programming skills.
- MATLAB and Simulink expertise.
- RSCAD (software package) – Real Time Digital Simulator.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or power systems engineering.
- Desirable experience with type-3 and type-4 wind turbine technologies for transient stability studies.
- At least 3 years' experience developing PSCAD models.
- Familiarity with grid code requirements.
