At Siemens Gamesa, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the energy sector. As a Power System and Converter Control Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in driving the energy transition and providing innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and integrate electrical simulation models for wind turbines and wind farms
  • Design and implement converter control algorithms for grid features
  • Test and analyze model performance, providing inputs to other departments
  • Assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities
  • Document activities, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals
Requirements:
  • Power System engineering expertise, including transmission and distribution networks
  • Grid elements knowledge, including power transformers, power cables, and reactive power compensation devices
  • Power electronics and electrical machine expertise
  • Harmonics analysis and converter control engineering skills
  • Control theory and application knowledge
Technical Skills:
  • PSCAD software proficiency, including Fortran compilers and encryption techniques
  • Fortran and C programming skills
  • MATLAB and Simulink expertise
  • RSCAD software knowledge
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Wind turbine experience, particularly with type-3 and type-4 technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
