Position Title:
Structural Engineering Specialist - KBROverview
The selected candidate will operate within the Engineering Design Section, taking on the responsibilities of a Structural Engineer. This role encompasses the effective oversight of design and construction initiatives, ensuring that all projects are executed successfully and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Oversight: Maintain and enhance the NexGenIT software database or any subsequent IT systems.
- Project Oversight: Direct project management for a variety of contracts, including construction and service contracts, to fulfill facility needs.
- Roofing Program Coordination: Administer the roofing program in compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Facility Evaluation and Upkeep: Conduct regular assessments of facilities, plan maintenance and repair activities, and provide structural evaluations.
- Engineering and Strategic Planning: Engage in engineering and planning efforts, including the formulation and execution of short to long-term plans for installation complexes.
- Contract Development and Collaboration: Create contracting packages and supervise the execution of funded project requirements.
- Activity Management Support: Assist in the creation and maintenance of Activity Management Plans.
- Assessment Assistance: Support assessments related to facilities and infrastructure.
- Design Contributions: Provide design services for construction and renovation projects, ensuring timely completion.
- Coordination and Support: Offer engineering support for the review and coordination of projects from various agencies.
- Project Finalization: Conduct inspections for project acceptance and ensure proper documentation.
- Construction Liaison: Act as a liaison for construction management on projects handled by various agencies.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Strive for enhanced service delivery at reduced costs through innovative suggestions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six years of project engineering experience, with three years specifically in structural engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in the native language and English at specified reading, writing, and verbal levels.
- Possession of a Class 'B' driver's license.
- Advanced computer skills are essential.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting and exposure to various environmental conditions.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to maintain professional relationships and communicate complex information effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
- Experience in managing capital projects and familiarity with design standards.
- Knowledge of construction practices and engineering principles.
