Overview

The employee will operate within the Engineering Design Section at KBR, assuming the pivotal role of Structural Engineer. This position entails the oversight of design and construction initiatives, ensuring that all projects are executed effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

The Structural Engineer will engage in engineering and planning tasks to meet project specifications while adhering to industry standards. This role includes:

  • Database Oversight: Maintain and enhance the project management database to ensure accurate tracking of project data.
  • Project Coordination: Lead project management efforts for various contracts, including construction and service contracts, to fulfill facility needs.
  • Roofing Program Oversight: Administer the roofing program in compliance with relevant management guidelines.
  • Facility Evaluation and Upkeep: Conduct regular assessments of facilities, plan necessary maintenance, and provide structural evaluations and reports.
  • Engineering and Strategic Planning: Execute engineering and planning activities, including the development of short- and long-term strategies for facility enhancements.
  • Contract Development and Team Collaboration: Create contracting documents and manage U.S. funded project requirements, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Activity Management Support: Assist in the creation and upkeep of Activity Management Plans, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Assessment Assistance: Support facility assessments and ensure accurate identification of project requirements.
  • Design Contributions: Provide design expertise for construction and renovation projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Coordination and Support: Offer engineering support for the review of projects from various agencies.
  • Project Finalization: Oversee project acceptance processes and ensure the completion of necessary documentation.
  • Construction Management Liaison: Act as a liaison for construction management on projects handled by external agencies.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Strive for enhanced service delivery while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of six years of experience in project engineering for significant facilities, with at least three years in structural engineering.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in the native language and a strong command of English, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Advanced computer skills are essential.
  • Physical capabilities to manage lifting and exposure to various work conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proven experience in maintaining professional relationships and communicating project updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and related software.
