Event Coordinator with German Expertise

As a Venue Sourcing Specialist with German, you will play a pivotal role within our Center of Excellence Team, managing venue sourcing requests. You will work closely with a dedicated internal team located in a different market to facilitate venue sourcing for our clients. Your responsibilities will include negotiating essential program elements based on a thorough understanding of client needs, from the initial inquiry to contract finalization and handover. A flexible work arrangement, whether remote or hybrid, is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate meeting requests and assist in qualification discussions with clients.
  • Engage in proactive negotiations regarding pricing, enhanced commissions, and contractual agreements.
  • Prepare and distribute proposals to clients.
  • Maintain timely communication with internal teams and suppliers regarding travel program operations.
  • Adhere to established procedures for all sourcing activities.
  • Conduct annual negotiations and contracts across global programs, tailored to specific accounts and client needs.
  • Adjust sourcing strategies to align with American Express GBT's preferred supplier criteria.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in venue sourcing, event, or meeting management.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in hotel procurement is essential.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of international hotels and destinations in Europe is required.
  • Familiarity with travel supplier operations and their service offerings.
  • Experience with program management systems, particularly online sourcing tools, is preferred.
  • Ability to create win/win solutions.
  • Experience in hospitality operations or a related field is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and demands effectively.
  • Strong understanding of program/event management and budget oversight.
  • Proficiency in technology and analytical skills is required.
  • Willingness to travel by various modes of transportation.
  • Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
