Meeting Planner with German Language Expertise

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Meeting Planner with German language expertise to join our team at American Express Global Business Travel. As a key member of our Center of Excellence Team, you will be responsible for leading venue sourcing requests and collaborating with internal teams to support customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Meetings and Events: Review meeting requests, support meeting qualification calls with clients, and negotiate critical program components based on client requirements.
  2. Venue Sourcing: Proactively negotiate price, enhanced commission, and contract with suppliers, and create and send customer proposals.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with internal teams and suppliers on a timely basis, and follow standard operating procedures for all sourcing activity.
  4. Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate and contract between programs worldwide on an annual basis, adapting sourcing to meet Amex GBT preferred supplier thresholds.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in venue sourcing, event or meeting management, with a proven track record of negotiation skills and knowledge of international hotels and destinations in Europe.
  2. Language Skills: Proficiency in English and German, with the ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail, and/or car.
  3. Education: College degree preferred, with experience in hotel buying and program management system experience a plus.
  4. Skills: Proven aptitude for technology and/or software solutions, analytical skills, and ability to effect win/win solutions.
