Functional Safety Specialist for Automotive Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team at Applus IDIADA, specializing in functional safety for automotive systems. As a key member of our Electronics Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicle features.
Key Responsibilities- Feature Definition: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define vehicle features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Thermal Management, in accordance with customer design requirements.
- Hazard Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of potential hazards associated with electric and electronic malfunctions of vehicle features, including thermal events and loss of deceleration.
- Safety Goal Definition: Develop safety goals and functional safety requirements to prevent hazardous events and ensure the safety of vehicle occupants.
- Technical Safety Requirements: Define technical safety requirements and safety architectural design of vehicle features, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Safety Validation: Validate vehicle features to ensure they meet safety requirements and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Support the development of procedures and methodologies, including the creation of checklists, templates, and guidelines.
- Project Definition and Quotations: Collaborate with clients to determine their needs, prepare offers, and participate in internal meetings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Knowledge of the ISO 26262 standard
- Experience in Electric/Electronic or other development areas, such as Powertrain, ADAS, and E-Mobility
- Experience working with OEMs and suppliers
- Understanding of different vehicle architectures, including Combustion Engine vehicles, Electric vehicles, and Automated vehicles
- Excellent team-working, organization, and communication skills
- Proficiency in traditional Office suites, such as MS Office and Outlook
- Willingness to travel
You will need a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, or a related field. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with knowledge of German being an asset. Other languages are also valuable.
