Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Rooms to become a vital part of the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Director of Rooms will oversee the Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments, ensuring exceptional service delivery while optimizing room revenue and fostering team development.

Collaborate with the PBX team to uphold hotel policies and procedures. Manage the organizational and administrative functions across all sectors of the Rooms Division: Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Laundry. Oversee daily operations of the Rooms Division, ensuring effective communication among departments to achieve complete guest and team satisfaction. Regularly assess the performance of each department within the Rooms Division and implement corrective measures as needed. Establish and promote SLS-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Rooms Division. Attend, lead, and engage in various hotel and departmental meetings. Conduct interviews for all relevant departments. Collaborate with the Executive Committee to identify strategies, training, and tools necessary for empowering team members to deliver outstanding guest service. Facilitate training and development for the Rooms Division team in alignment with SLS and Ennismore standards. Monitor and analyze guest feedback to pinpoint areas for enhancement. Address guest inquiries directly as required. Work alongside the Hotel Manager to monitor daily availability and occupancy, coordinating with Revenue to address any challenges. Participate in Fire Safety and Loss Prevention initiatives. Recognize the nature of the hospitality industry, which may necessitate providing lateral service, and be prepared to perform various related tasks as needed to ensure exceptional service delivery. Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

Proven experience in Hospitality, Restaurants, and Nightlife is essential. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the hotel industry, ideally within an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a high level of energy and motivation, along with a successful track record of embodying the company's values. Proficient in computer systems such as Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and point of sale systems. Ability to multitask, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in both Spanish and English is required. Strong understanding of local legal compliance requirements. A natural ability to foster positive relationships with team members, guests, and colleagues. A strong team leader, adept at managing and inspiring others to achieve their best. Confident in collaborating with other teams and leaders, with a passion for collective achievement. Ability to take ownership of significant issues, resolve problems, and make effective decisions. Quick learner, adaptable to SLS's unique culture. Humble and open to new ideas, prioritizing collaboration over ego. Willingness to embrace innovative approaches and try new things.
