Role OverviewKey Responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned Beverage Director to be part of the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Beverage Director will oversee the operations of all Food & Beverage outlets within the hotel. This role is essential in ensuring that the service aligns with the SLS brand, fostering a team-oriented culture where staff members are empowered to make decisions and take ownership of their roles.
- Oversee beverage management, including inventory control, cost management, and sales analysis.
- Negotiate with suppliers and implement brand agreements.
- Manage national and international beverage-related events and mixology initiatives.
- Enforce established beverage policies and procedures across the property.
- Train staff on liquor control policies and ensure compliance.
- Monitor adherence to service standards and SOPs.
- Supervise the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet quality standards.
- Facilitate ongoing communication among all restaurants and bars.
- Ensure that beverage offerings are of the highest quality and presented attractively.
- Assist the Director of Food and Beverage with administrative tasks, including reports and strategic planning.
- Support the onboarding of new hires through tailored training programs.
- Focus primarily on operational aspects, dedicating 60% of efforts to this area.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Hospitality or Beverage Management.
- Over 4 years of experience in hospitality management, particularly in high-volume beverage operations.
- Familiarity with the local market is advantageous.
- Proven leadership skills with a strong commitment to the company's values.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with team members and guests.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Quick learner, adaptable to the unique culture of SLS.
