About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at MAHLE. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing AC compressor components, developing engineering specifications, and utilizing DFMEA/PFMEA processes to provide a robust design prior to mass production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AC compressor components
  • Develop and author engineering specifications for components and assemblies
  • Utilize DFMEA/PFMEA processes to provide a robust design
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation, specification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Assist with preparation and execution of test units
  • Understand A/C compressor tests efficiently and correctly
  • Analyze test data and organize results relative to internal or customer specifications
  • Apply engineering practices to reach design solutions
  • Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product design for high value and manufacturability

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or higher
  • Experience developing precision Mechatronic products for 5+ years
  • Understanding of Principles of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, strengths of materials, thermodynamics, physics (mechanical and electrical), and engineering design
  • Automotive/Residential/Commercial HVAC development experience is highly desired
  • Experience with full Product cycle life development up to production
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Basic 3D modeling
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts
  • Ability to manage time and organize effectively with multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good results orientation and strong work ethic
