We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at MAHLE. As a key member of our product engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing AC compressor components.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and develop AC compressor components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Develop and author engineering specifications for components and assemblies to be used in manufacturing facilities.
- Apply creative, diagnostic, and innovative problem-solving skills to engineering problems.
- Utilize DFMEA/PFMEA processes to provide a robust design prior to mass production.
- Assist with preparation and execution of test units, ensuring efficient and correct understanding of A/C compressor tests.
- Analyze test data and organize results relative to internal or customer specifications, with observations and conclusions.
- Apply engineering practices to reach design solutions, participating in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams related to customer program launch activity, working with suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product design for high value and manufacturability.
**Requirements**
- BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or higher.
- Experience developing precision Mechatronic products for 5+ years.
- Understanding of principles of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, strengths of materials, thermodynamics, physics (mechanical and electrical), and engineering design.
- Automotive/Residential/Commercial HVAC development experience is highly desired.
- Experience with full product cycle life development up to production.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Basic 3D modeling.
- Good interpersonal skills, written and oral skills, ability to convey technical concepts.
- Ability to manage time and organize effectively with multiple projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good results orientation and strong work ethic.
