To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in retail and/or shopping centre developments.

What you’ll need to have:

- University degree in Architecture or in a building design related field.
- Minimum 8 years full cycle experience with Shopping centre developments and/or management with an international real estate investor/developer.
- Minimum 5 years in a management position leading design teams, with proven leadership skills and track record.
- Experience and knowledge of all building design stages, including construction and handover.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch up, Photoshop, Microsoft office packages.
- You are fluent in the English and Spanish language (both spoken and written).

**What you'll be doing day to day**

As Design Manager you will ensure that Ingka Centres’ ambitions and objectives in design quality, integrity, program and cost are implemented, monitored and managed in the project through all design stages.

You will have many different tasks, some of them are:

- Responsible for the design of multiple projects across different countries ranging in size from small refurbishments to large new-builds.
- Ideas generation, visual communication, scope of work development, consultant procurement, internal stakeholder alignment, design team management.
- Project presentations, assessing quality of work, forming a design direction and executing it.

The position will be based in Madrid-Spain.

The purpose of the Expansion & Development function is to generate revenue and growth of new and current Meeting Places while also collaborating with IKEA Retail, the Ingka Group and external contractors with the goal of delivering the needs of customers and local communities within the locations they operate.
